Hohner Les Paul Black Beauty

These Hohners were very well made, and cost a lot when new. They don't hold their price because they lack the magic word on the headstock, and hence are very good value secondhand. This one had been seriously abused, however. The fingerboard had come adrift (though the neck itself was undamaged), some of the binding was missing, along with a couple of frets, and there were deep scratches through the finish on the front and back. A complete rebuild was required, and I took the opportunity to practice my polishing technique! Black is always particularly demanding, as it will show every scratch. I was very pleased with the finished result - note the ultra-low action.
