Retro-fit Volume Control

The Volume Control Add-On is a non-destructive, plug-and-play addition to an existing Pure Pickup and more! Simply unscrew the existing endpin jack, remove it from the endpin hole, and plug it into the 1/4" plug of the volume control element. The 1/4" plug has a self-adhesive fastener, which can be secured inside the guitar. The lightweight thumbwheel control mounts with a peel-and-stick installation to the inner edge of the soundshole. Mount the new endpin jack into the endpin hole, and you're done!

Works with any single source passive internal transducer system, like the K&K Pure Mini, the Fantastick, Twin Spot internal or Big Twin internal and with comparable competitors transducers too.

Pre-Phase Miniature Pre-Amp

The Pre-Phase preamp can easily be added to any existing Pure pickup. No soldering required! Simply unscrew the existing endpin, plug it into the connector on the Pre-Phase and use the provided Velcro to secure and hide the connectors inside your guitar. Mount the new endpinjack and you are pretty much done.

The Pre-Phase provides truly astonishing sound quality. The signal path is very direct and K& use only close tolerance grade A components. This means no loss of harmonics. The addition of the phase switch is one of the most important tools for live sound amplification of any acoustic instrument.

The light weight of the Pre-Phase will not affect the acoustic tone of your instrument, and the battery life is 500+ hours, which equals about 1 year on average use.

The volume control wheel allows for convenient adjustment during performance. With the Pre-Phase you are able to plug your acoustic guitar into any amp or PA directly. Simply use the EQ on the amp or Mixer channel to adjust your tone.

Pure Preamp

This beltclip unit has been specifically designed for the frequencies of the acoustic guitar but it is also great for many other instruments. The Pure Preamp features a special super wide band midrange filter, which is absolutely great in combination with the Pure pickups. Its simple and noiseless circuit provides unsurpassed clarity and power and the internal gain trimmer allows you to dial in the precise amplification factor needed for your instrument.

While it doesn't have all the features of the L.R Baggs Para DI Preamp or K&K's Pure XLR Preamp, its low cost and matching impedance make this a great choice for use with any of the Pure pickups that don't already have onboard preamps. It is also compatible with a wide range of other passive acoustic guitar pickups.

The Pure Preamp features +/-20 db bass, mid, and treble controls plus an internal gain trimmer. Frequency response is 10-30,000Hz. The bass control is set to roll of at 100Hz, the midrange at 1.5kHz with extra large bandwidth and the treble are set at 10kHz.

Input impedance is 1 meg and the output is low ohmic. Battery life is about 180+ hours.

K&K Pure Pre-Amp

Pure XLR Preamp

Pure XLR Preamp - This offering from K&K uses the electronics of their standard beltclip Pure Preamp, but provides a DI balanced XLR out socket as well as a 1/4" line-out, plus a phase switch to ensure that your instrument is acoustically matched to your speaker system.

It is particularly well-suited to K&K's Pure pickup range, but due to its adjustable input gain and wide frequency range it will work with many more applications. The Pure XLR Preamp features +/-20 db bass, mid, and treble controls, plus an adjustable input gain control. Its simple and super-noiseless circuit provides unsurpassed clarity and power and the adjustable input gain allows you to dial in the precise amplification factor needed for your instrument.

It is 9-volt battery or phantom power operated. An LED light indicates if phantom power is present. The battery will not be drained as long as the phantom power provides more than 10 volts.

Frequency response is 10-30,000Hz. The bass control is set to roll off at 100Hz, the midrange at 1.5kHz with extra large bandwidth and the treble are set at 10kHz. Input impedance is 1 meg. Output impedance on balanced XLR and 1/4" line out is 100 Ohm. The 1/4" line out can conveniently be used as a monitor out or for connection to a tuner.

It's comparable with the Baggs Para DI preamp - while it lacks the Baggs' notch filter and has simpler EQ, it's very high quality and is more robust for stage use.

K&K Pure XLR Pre-Amp

K&K Pure XLR Pre-Amp

Pure XLR Mach 2 Preamp

The Pure XLR Mach 2 is K&K's latest preamp. It offers significant enhancements to sound quality and additional functionality.

The circuit runs on a voltage doubler that provides 18 volts to the internal components even though it uses standard 9 volt input voltage. The result is high-powered clarity that simply cannot be achieved with a regular 9-volt circuit! Electronic circuits work more efficient on higher power and electronic components designed for low power consumption will never sound as good as the more power-hungry components that are optimized for tone quality. There is a direct relation between power consumption and sound quality, meaning that preamps with 200+ hours battery life will compromise on sound quality. Phantom powered preamps, depending on their complexity, also need to compromise on power consumption issues as phantom power fluctuates and diminishes with the number of consumers connected.

Generally, low power consumption equals less high-end response, less headroom (circuit peaks or overloads sooner), and less overall clarity. K&K have always favoured sound quality over power consumption in their external preamp line, but with the Pure XLR Mach 2 Preamp they went even further and run it on 18 volts. The unit is supplied complete with power supply and UK adaptor.

This feature alone would make the new Pure XLR Mach 2 Preamp worthwhile, but K&K have also added a few more things that players have asked for:

. +/- 15dB Parametric band that covers 150Hz to 700Hz with adjustable notch width
. Full bypass of parametric stage if not needed
. Tuner output
. Mute switch output

In addition to these features:

. Proprietary K&K high-power three band EQ (bass - mid - treble)
. Adjustable input gain
. Phase switch
. Master volume
. Simultaneously usable 1/4" line out and balanced XLR - DI output

The tuner output allows you to connect your tuner 'open ended,' so there will be no signal degradation by passing through it and no switch noise.

The Pure XLR Mach 2 Preamp preserves harmonics and overtones and provides a more open and true acoustic sound response. The additional parametric band allows you to fine-adjust the low mid / high bass band for optimum tone and feedback control.

K&K's Ultra Pure onboard active system has been completely redesigned in response to customer feedback. The newly designed UltraPure Preamp features +/-20 db bass/low, K&K's proprietary wide band midrange, and treble/high controls, plus internal gain trimmer. The addition of a phase switch is one of the most important tools for live sound amplification. The system also includes a volume control and low battery indicator.

Installing the preamp requires no destructive alteration to your instrument. The preamp is mounted inside the guitar at the edge of the soundhole, giving you convenient access to the controls during performance.

The Ultra Pure Preamp is also available as a complete system with the K&K Pure Mini, Pure Classic and Pure 12-String transducers. Click here for more details.

Dual Channel Pro Preamp

The Dual Channel Pro Preamp is a two-channel, beltclip mixer that allows you to blend two pickups. It is compatible with both piezo and magnetic pickups. The Dual Channel Pro Preamp features extremely low noise operation. It can process high input peaks without distortion and offers an incredible dynamic range.

Aside from its strong bass, midrange and treble filters (for each channel), it offers internal gain adjustments which set the pre amplification factor from 1 to 10 (per channel). This allows you to boost the input signal up to the 10-fold amount. It features two volume controls knobs, two 1/4" inputs, and a line level 1/4" output on the outside of the box. Inside the box, there are adjustable controls for gain, bass, midrange and treble for each channel. The tone controls offer an incredible +/- 20 dB. This is a wider range than some big boards on the market today!

To keep the box as small as possible these controls are trim pots (small potentiometers for adjustment with a precision screw driver which is supplied). Once you installed the two systems you have chosen for your instrument, you can adjust them with the trim pots to your personal taste and needs. During performance, the two volume knobs on the outside allow for fast balancing on the fly.

Kamp;K Dual Channel Pro Preamp

Dual Channel Pro ST Preamp

The Dual Channel Pro ST Preamp is an extremely powerful yet small mixer in a belt clip box. It is designed for mixing a combination of transducers, pickups, or dynamic microphones (microphones that do not need power) on one instrument to achieve the best possible sound. It offers volume, gain, 3-band EQ for each channel. The tone controls feature an extended range of +/- 20 dB, which exceeds many mixers on the market today. To keep the box as small as possible, the gain and tone controls are trimpots inside the unit (small potentiometers for adjustment with a supplied screwdriver). During performance, the musician can conveniently balance the two channels on the volume control knobs.

Connect your pickups to the stereo input via a shielded 1/4-inch stereo cable (not supplied) and connect MONO/MIX OUT via a mono 1/4-inch guitar cable into an amplifier.

If a second mono cable is inserted into CH. 2 OUT, the channels will be carried separately. In other words, CH. 2 OUT will carry only Ch. 2 and MAIN/MIX OUT will carry only Ch. 1.

Kamp;K Dual Channel Pro ST Preamp

Trinity Pro Preamp

The Trinity Pro Preamp allows for perfect balancing of a lavalier type mic and a pickup/transducer. Channel 2 is a designated mic channel and supplies 9-volt to a lavalier type microphone (as opposed to the Dual Channel Pro ST Preamp, which features two pickup channels and does not supply mic power). Each individual channel features volume, gain, and +/- 20 dB bass, midrange, and treble filters. The EQ is accessible inside the box with trimpots. This belt clip preamp is an amazing unit for its price!

The Trinity Pro Preamp is built with K&K's "Silent-Filter-Technology" and full size component philosophy. K& use full size capacitors and transistors because they think that they sound better than the miniature components in most of today's guitar preamps.
Aside from its strong bass, midrange and treble filters, it offers internal gain adjustments which set the pre amplification factor from 1 to 10 (for each channel). This way, you can boost the input signal up to the 10 fold amount. It features 2 volume controls knobs, two 1/4" inputs and a line level 1/4" output on the outside of the box. Inside the box are adjustable controls for gain, bass, midrange and treble for each channel. The tone controls offer an incredible +/- 20 dB. This is a wider range than some big boards on the market today!

The Trinity Pro Preamp has a Main Mix Out which carries both channels (mixed), plus the option of individual channel ouputs if a second cable is inserted in the center output.

Kamp;K Trinity Preamp

Quantum Blender

The Quantum Blender is a two-channel preamp/mixer but this unit goes one step further. Two fully independent channels feature special tailored powerful 3-band EQ, phase reverse switches, gain and volume controls. Mixed output options in both active-balanced and 1/4" line-level format, individual outputs, stereo and mono inputs, and effect loop. Channel one is switchable from mic to pickup impedance. All this, plus K&K's ultra low noise circuitry.

The Quantum Blender allows for mixing a piezo transducer with a microphone, magnetic pickup or another piezo pickup. It can be used with any "2 wire" powered lavalier type condenser mic or with a piezo or magnetic pickup. With an appropriate microphone impedance matching transformer a dynamic mic can be used as well. Channel 2 is designed with K&K's Trinity System or Pure Pickup in mind, but it works well with all types of piezo transducers.

Gain: The 2 gain controls allow for adjusting the input sensitivity of each channel. Here you can set the sensitivity of each channel to fit different pickups, microphones or transducers.

Inputs: Stereo 1/4" line input 2 individual mono 1/4" line inputs

Outputs: Balanced XLR Mix out (carries both channels) Line level 1/4" Mix out (carries both channels) Individual 1/4" line outputs of channel 1 and 2

Effect Loop: The effect loop allows for connecting to an effect unit (like reverb) via a special 1/4" stereo cable with a stereo plug on one side and 2 mono 1/4 plugs on the other.

Noiseless Power Supply for K&K Preamps

The Noiseless Power Supply is specially designed to run K&K's 9-volt battery-powered preamps. Regular power supply adapters have a 60 Hz hum, but this supply has a special noise suppression circuit.

With our Noiseless Power Supply, you can save batteries PLUS get better performance out of your preamp's circuit. This model supplies 10.5 volts. This means better headroom, more clarity and lower distortion.

It is especially efficient with all K&K's dual-channel preamps (including the Trinity, PowerMix Pure, Bass Master Rockabilly, and Bass Master Pro preamps) due to their relatively high power consumption.

It works with US and European voltage (with a simple travel adapter). Use it whenever you do not need the extended freedom of movement with battery operation, save money on batteries, support the environment, and get a cleaner sound with the Noiseless Power Supply. And don't worry, all K&K preamp circuits can easily by driven by 10.5 volts without any risk of damage.
