It took two attempts to get the colour right on this 1950s Tele replica. The first was too 'bar-room ceiling', but the second one was as intended. I find that these blonde and butterscotch finishes need to be built up in very thin coats. I always use nitrocellulose, which looks authentic - but it will continue to yellow over time, so it's important not to overdo the tinting.
